About us
We are a free informational service for people trying to work out whether disability benefits apply to them. Here is exactly what that means, including how we are paid.
What we do
We explain how Social Security disability benefits work in language that does not require a law degree, and we cover the questions people actually search for — starting with their own condition.
If you want to talk to a person, we connect you with a benefits advocacy office. That is free to you, and you are never obligated to anything.
What we are not
- We are not the Social Security Administration, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by them or any government agency.
- We are not a law firm and we do not give legal advice.
- We do not decide claims and we cannot promise an outcome.
- We do not charge you, and we never ask for your Social Security number on this website.
How this is paid for
We are paid by the benefits advocacy offices we connect people with. That is worth stating plainly, because it is the reason a free service can exist — and it is also why we are careful to tell you when your situation probably is not worth pursuing. A referral that wastes your time is not worth anything to anybody.
